One Message, Two Audiences: Aligning External Service Access with Internal Team Care in a Polarized Environment
October 27, 2026
1:45 pm - 2:45 pm |
Animal welfare organizations are being asked to do more than ever: expand access to care, respond to rising community need, and navigate increasingly polarized public discourse, often with limited resources and already-stretched teams. Too often, service expansion and workforce sustainability are treated as separate challenges, addressed through separate strategies and communications. This session explores how aligning external service messaging with internal staff communication can help organizations expand access to care without eroding trust, morale, or capacity. Using a real-world case study focused on evolving pet food pantry strategies in a polarized environment, participants will examine how leadership can use communications as a strategic tool to support both community impact and staff well-being.Attendees will learn how to design and deliver one cohesive message that speaks to two critical audiences – clients and staff – while navigating political sensitivities, operational constraints, and emotional labor. This session offers practical frameworks, decision-making tools, and lessons learned that leaders can immediately apply when communicating change, scaling services, or responding to public pressure.
